Rod Wave Drives Friend To Throw Up Following Crazy $5K Drinking Challenge

Rod Wave has proven that if you’re going to roll with him you have to make sure your drinking game is up to par.

In a video posted to his Instagram story, the “Alone” rapper/singer challenged each member of his crew to drink a glass full of liquor in an hour for a $5,000 prize each. Each member of his entourage gladly accepted the challenge.

While several of his boys completed the mission, one of Rod Wave’s friends struggled as he tried to down the drink. Eventually, he could not hold his liquor and threw up outside in the snow while everyone laughed hysterically at his mishap.

When he’s not curating big-money drinking games, Rod Wave has been making a major impact on the music scene. After several delays, he finally released his new album Beautiful Mind this year, which upon its release kept Bad Bunny out of the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200.

Beautiful Mind is Rod Wave’s second No. 1 album following SoulFly, which debuted at No. 1 on the chart back in April, 2021. During the first week of its release, the project moved 115,000 equivalent units, of which 113,000 consisted of SEA units, equaling 157.73 million on-demand streams of the album. The 24-track LP features four singles: “By Your Side,” “Cold December,” “Stone Rolling” and “Alone.”

Rod Wave Didn’t Drop His Album One Young Fan Is Pissed

While he’s enjoyed undeniable success as an artist, Rod Wave admitted earlier this year that he missed out on a once and a lifetime opportunity to be featured on Drake’s “Lemon Pepper Freestyle.” Originally slated to appear on the track in 2021, Rod pulled himself off the record after he didn’t like how his verse came out. Drake enlisted Rick Ross to take his place.

In an interview with Complex, Rod Wave gave a behind-the-scenes story about how he almost traded bars with the Toronto icon.

“A n-gga like Drake have to understand I got your CD for Christmas. At that moment, I just was like in shock and I was still adjusting to the shit,” he said. “He sent me the song and it took me a week to record. I was like, ‘I don’t know what do to on this motherfucker.”

He continued: “We recorded it and I heard it and I just was like, ‘I don’t like this bitch. I want to come harder. I want to get in there and do some shit.’ I got this man CD for Christmas and was a little boy watching him. Just cold feet.”
