Lil Wayne Criticizes Green Bay Packers For Keeping Aaron Rodgers

Lil Wayne has criticized the Green Bay Packers for their decision to keep Aaron Rodgers despite his poor performance on the field.

Tunechi expressed his frustrations with the Wisconsin NFL team on Twitter, after the team suffered an excruciating 15-9 loss against their division rival the Detroit Lions.

“RIP to the season we should’ve gotten rid of 12 before the season,” Wayne wrote on Twitter, referring to Rodgers’ number.

Wayne has been a longtime fan of the Packers, dropping the song “Green Yellow” in 2011 to support the team during their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

In a previous interview with Fox News, Wayne said he grew up a Packers fan, and that the team’s merchandise was used often.

“When you from the hood, towels and all that shit doesn’t get hung up, nailed to walls. That gets used,” Weezy said. “So every day I was actually using the Green Bay towel, drinking out of that Green Bay cup, eating out of that Green Bay bowl.”

Rodger’s seemed to partially agree with Wayne’s assessment of the situation and said during the post-game presser on Sunday that his team needed to “dig deep” to turn the season around. The Packers are now 3-6 on the season.

“I had some s—ty throws, for sure,” Rodgers added.

Lil Wayne is fresh off his Lil Weezyana Festival, which went off without a hitch in the rap star’s hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana at the end of October.

Tunechi reunited with Young Money for a headlining performance and surprised fans when Drake came waltzing out on stage. The duo performed a few of their hits together including “She Will” and “The Motto,” while Drizzy ran through “Knife Talk,” “Jimmy Cooks,” “In My Feelings,” “Nonstop” and “God’s Plan.”

Rick Ross, Cam’ron, Rob 49, Babyface Ray, Neno and Mellow Rackz also performed.

Meanwhile, Wayne was recently honored with his own exhibit in the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM). The Nashville, Tennessee exhibit hosted an event for fans to come and view artifacts donated by Tunechi such as his Grammy for Rap Album of the Year, his BET “I Am Hip-Hop” Award, a handwritten letter from Rikers Island and an original CD of his major label debut album, Tha Block Is Hot.
