JAY-Z & Beyoncé a.k.a. The Carters Drop "APESHIT" Video To Accompany "EVERYTHING IS LOVE" Album

Paris, France – Only JAY-Z and Beyoncé could take over The Louvre in Paris, France during the height of social media’s dominance and keep their video rollout a secret.

Shot by director Ricky Saiz in May, The Carters have immediately capitalized off of their surprise album, EVERYTHING IS LOVE, with the release of the video for “APESHIT.”

The song will undoubtedly create conversation due to Jigga’s decision to address Donald Trump, last February’s Grammy shutout and saying “hell no” to a Super Bowl performance.

Watch the “APESHIT” video and listen to their new collaboration EVERYTHING IS LOVE album right here.

Die Antwoord Announce Final Album "27" Will Have 17 Hidden Tracks

Die Antwoord’s last album will be titled 27 (not the originally planned title, The Book of Zef) and is slated to be released “unusually over the next year or so,” the group announced via Twitter on Thursday (June 14).

In a series of tweets, they share details of 27′s coming, which include 27 songs with features from some of their favorite artists, mostly out of South Africa.

They also say the project itself will be released as 10 tracks in conjunction with a feature film they’re making with the same title as the album. The remaining 17 tracks will be “hidden in various places,” including one that will be on the b-side of a super limited-edition vinyl for the recently released “Alien.”

27 will be Die Antwoord‘s follow-up to 2016’s Mount Ninji and da Nice Time Kid.

#DXHitList: Jay Rock, Rico Nasty & Nef The Pharaoh Top This Week’s Spotify Playlist

Spotify – Friday is here and that means a refreshed #DXHitList on Spotify featuring the creme de la creme of music releases this week (as we wait for Nasir to hit streaming services). To start, Jay Rock’s Redemption track “Rotation 112th” leads the pack. It’s a bouncy cut produced by Hykeem Carter and is illuminated by some wicked lyrics.

Rico Nasty released her 14-track debut album Nasty Friday (June 15), and included among the standout tracks is “Won’t Change.” The production serves for cheery and fun background as Rico raps about not paying attention to the hate from the naysayers.

Also at the top of the our weekly playlist is “Ball Out,” a smooth Bay Area slap by Nef The Pharaoh and 03 Greedo, featuring a verse from ALLBLACK.

Also featured, music from buzzing Houston rapper Hogg Booma, a new one from 2 Chainz featuring Quavo and Drake called “Bigger Than You” and even a little K-Pop with BLACKPINK’s new cut “Ddu-du Ddu-du.”

Listen to the #DXHitList below and follow us while you’re at it to keep up to date on the latest in music every week.

Nas Finally Releases Kanye West-Produced "Nasir"

Nas’ 11th studio album, Nasir, has arrived on TIDAL and Apple Music.

The Queens legend unveiled the project on Thursday night (June 14) at a waterfront listening party under the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City.

Executive produced by Kanye West, the seven-track album boasts contributions from The-Dream, Puff Daddy, 070 Shake and The World Famous Tony Williams. It also boasts production from Che Pope, Benny Blanco, Cashmere Cat, Plain Pat, BoogzDaBeast, Andrew Dawson and E*vax.

Super producer Mike Dean was evidently working on it until the 11th hour. In an Instagram video posted on Thursday, he wrote, “Nas. Coming soon.”

Reactions to the album have been mixed — some praised it for the superior production while others chose to boycott it after Nas’ ex-wife Kelis accused him of physical abuse in a recent interview.

Nonetheless, Escobar season has arrived.
