Teyana Taylor Halts Plans For "Completed" Version Of "K.T.S.E."

Teyana Taylor’s K.T.S.E. album will remain in its current state. After announcing her intentions to release a “completed” version of the project due to its missing content, the G.O.O.D. Music singer has revealed there won’t be an update after all.

“I guess we ain’t getting one,” she wrote with a shrugging emoji, responding to a Twitter user asking why the new version hadn’t dropped as promised.

Taylor went on to explain that sample clearance issues were still causing a delay, forcing her to change course.

“A lot of clearance issues, shit takes time,” she explained. “At this point I will leave album the way it is will just debut the extended records thru my visuals!”

Taylor previously declared she’d be shooting videos for every single song from the K.T.S.E. album. It appears fans must wait for those visuals to hear the completed versions of the tracks.

(This post has been updated. The following was originally published on June 26, 2018.)

The recent series of Kanye West-produced albums were marred by chaotic releases. Disorganized listening parties and last minute mixing for the projects became a regular occurrence, culminating in a particularly confusing rollout for Teyana Taylor’s K.T.S.E.

In a new interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Taylor confirmed the album was incomplete, which led to the haphazard nature of its release. The G.O.O.D. Music singer said the completed version of the project will be released in the near future.

“It’s just different levels of RB on this album and then once y’all hear the album, like next week, you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about because it’s way more completed,” she said about 10 minutes into the conversation. “It’s just crazy.”

Big Boy asked Taylor why the release date wasn’t pushed back a week if it wasn’t ready. She characterized the whole situation as a misunderstanding.

“Honestly, I think it was just more of a misunderstanding because Kanye know how much I been through,” she said. “The whole squad know how much I been through. So, I think it was more so of them making an executive decision of like damn, she been waiting for this moment. Let’s do whatever in this moment to make her happy, not realizing that I probably would have waited that [extra] week.”

Taylor also revealed she wasn’t really kept in the loop on her album’s status. When it dropped, she was surprised by all of the missing content.

“Like when the album dropped, I didn’t even know that much stuff wasn’t cleared,” Taylor said. “So when the album dropped and my friends woke me up like, ‘Yo, the album is out,’ I was excited. But, I was also like, ‘Wait, does that mean they were able to get everything cleared?’ It was really just an honest misunderstanding of me thinking maybe oh, some shit happened overnight.”

Following the interview, a fan tweeted, “so basically teyana taylor’s real album isn’t out.” Taylor responded to the comment in a retweet.

“Pretty much lol,” the singer wrote.

Taylor hasn’t announced a release date for the completed version of K.T.S.E.

No, XXXTENTACION’s Alleged Killer Wasn’t Raped In Jail By Kodak Black Associates

Broward County, FL – Dedrick D. Williams, the man suspected of killing XXXTENTACION, wasn’t raped in prison, according to TMZ.

Several reports surfaced over the weekend claiming Williams was assaulted by Kodak Black associates, but law enforcement officials at the Broward County Sheriff’s Office say that simply isn’t true.

The reports cited an employee at Dade County Jail system was claiming Williams was ambushed in the shower “with an attempted rape” and that Kodak may have been involved.

Veda Coleman-Wright, Broward County Sheriff’s Office’s Public Information Officer, says that story is “unfounded.”

Williams was arrested for the June 18 shooting death of the “Look At Me!” rapper on June 20. He is one of three suspects reportedly responsible for his death.

Last week, Broward County Sheriff’s Office named another person of interest, 22-year-old Robert Allen, and said BSO homicide detectives are “interested in talking to” him.

The feds are currently looking into the case.
