Lil Durk Credits JAY-Z, 50 Cent, Diddy, Etc. For His Entrepreneurial Motivation

Los Angeles, CA – Whether Lil Durk left or actually got dropped from Def Jam is irrelevant. The “Chicago rapper” isn’t putting all his eggs in one Easter basket.

During a recent interview with VLADTV, Durk, 25, spoke on his various business ventures, which included starting a trucking and realty company, named Asking About Trucking and AB Real Estate Management, respectively.

The OTF crew leader also attributed his off-rap hustle to actually listening to the financial musings of JAY-Z, Drake, 50 Cent and Diddy, a remarkable admission, seeing that his generation has been widely criticized with failing to obtain Hip Hop literacy from its elders.

“A lot of rappers come here talking that big boy stuff if rap would stop right now a lot of y’all would be broke,” Durk says of his peers. “Like what y’all gon do now? I got my own trucking company. My own real estate company.”

We started off with [two trucks] and now we got like eight or nine big wheelers,” he continued.

“They make real videos to show you. And I done watched a couple of those videos like, “Damn. I need my own real estate company. You get drivers. It can be anybody but you gotta have the right drivers. I don’t want no muthafucka who get high off any type of drugs, who drink all day to be on the road with my shit, you feel me? So we pick all smart muthafuckas, everybody who ready to work and think.”

When it comes to the real estate initiative, Durk admits he’s just getting his feet wet but revealed he did obtain his second house to flip already.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Durk speaks on his hometown of Chicago and speaks on moving to Atlanta in favor of a better lifestyle due to the city’s consistent crime rate.

Down below, he speaks on his the Def Jam situation in his own words.

Kanye West’s Tweet About Candace Owens Has Twitter Divided

Twitter – Kanye West wouldn’t be Kanye West if he didn’t stir up some controversy. On Saturday morning (April 21), the often elusive Hip Hop giant, who recently returned to Twitter after a long hiatus, tweeted about conservative commentator Candace Owens, causing an uproar on the social media platform.

“I love the way Candace Owens thinks,” West wrote.

Owens — a staunch supporter of Donald Trump — replied, “I’m freaking out. @kaynewest ….please take a meeting with me. I tell every single person that everything that I have been inspired to do, was written in your music. I am my own biggest fan, because you made it okay. I need you to help wake up the black community.”

As some people struggled to make sense of his sentiment, others were vocal about their support for Owens and applauded West’s “free thinking.”

But then there were those who were outspoken about West’s seemingly anti-black “policies and positions,” and questioned his sanity. Strange Famous mastermind Sage Francis even claimed there’s a throne reserved for him in the sunken place, a reference to the psychological thriller Get Out.

Perhaps those simply begging for wife Kim Kardashian-West to prevent West from tweeting and imploring him it to stop altogether have the right idea. But with a new solo album and collaboration with Kid Cudi — Kids See Ghost — both coming in June, this likely won’t be the last people hear from Kanye West.

Havoc Calls Prodigy’s Ex-Manager’s Lawsuit "Punk Shit"

Havoc, the surviving member of the legendary Mobb Deep, isn’t taking too kindly to a lawsuit filed against the group, seeing that his late brother-in-rhyme, Prodigy, hasn’t even been dead a full year.

“About the manager suing Mobb Deep … I mean, what kinda sicko sues his artist after he dies knowing that man got kids?” Havoc asked TMZ. “How his kids going to eat? He taking food out his kids’ mouth. That’s some punk shit!”

According to the alleged specifics, Buck 50 Productions claims they managed the careers of both Prodigy and Havoc from 2010 until Prodigy’s death in June 2017.

Not only is Buck 50 Productions claiming they paid Mobb Deep advances that were never recouped, they’re claiming there were tour bookings, recording and endorsement deals that were never reimbursed.

The asking price: $500,000. Let Havoc tell it though, it’s all a hustle.

“I’ma handle me in court,” Havoc continued. “He never was even my manager. It’s a money grab thing. He was never my manager but now he wanna take food out Prodigy kids’ mouth — and the man is dead. He a sicko; he a sick one.”

Havoc also promised to hold down Prodigy’s family and even pondered countersuing for a “frivolous” lawsuit.

Mobb Deep were active as a group for 25 years and friends even longer. Over the course of their career, they released eight albums and a handful of solo and compilation projects.

Logic Reportedly Files Divorce Papers Citing "Irreconcilable Differences"

Logic reportedly filed divorce papers on Thursday (April 19) after announcing he was splitting from wife Jessica Andrea last month. According to TMZ, the legal documents state the couple separated on February 3 and specify “irreconcilable differences.”

Logic reportedly doesn’t list any shared property and there are no details on any kind of spousal support. He filed the documents without a lawyer.

In a statement the Maryland-bred rapper shared to Twitter in March, he assured his fans they were “better as friends” but Andrea was reportedly left “shocked and devastated” once Logic told her he was happier being single.

The couple married in October 2015.

(The last version of this article was published on March 21, 2018 and can be found below.)

Logic confirmed he was divorcing his wife of two years, Jessica Andrea, on Tuesday (March 20). In a statement he posted to Twitter, he said there was “no fighting, no cheating, no nothing.” But according to TMZ, the Maryland-bred rapper told Andrea he was happier being single, which left her “shocked and devastated.”

Sources close to the soon-to-be divorced couple reportedly said Logic became distant after the massive success of “1-800-273-8255” and was frequently away from home.

The pair reportedly has a prenup but conditions of the agreement haven’t been disclosed. TMZ reports she won’t get the house or car. Andrea has reportedly moved in with one of her family members.

Logic is currently getting ready to hit the road on The Bobby Tarantino Vs. Everybody Tour in support of the recently released Bobby Tarantino II.

(This story was updated on March 20, 2018 and can be found below.)

Divorce gets exponentially more complicated when the parties involved are in the public eye. After TMZ reported Logic and his wife Jessica Andrea were headed for divorce, the news spread quickly.

Now, the Bobby Tarantino II rapper has addressed the split publicly for the first time. On Tuesday (March 20), he asked for “respect and privacy” in a Twitter post.

“After two years of marriage, we have come to the loving conclusion that we are much better as friends,” he wrote. “As entertainers, we have made every aspect of our lives public, yet we would appreciate your respect and privacy on this issue.”

The Grammy Award-nominated artist also wanted to dispel any of the internet’s theories as to why they’re dissolving the marriage.

“We would like to shut down the speculation and potential internet clickbait as to the ‘why’ in how this happened, or the ‘who might have done what to whom,” he wrote. “It’s very simple: it just didn’t work out. There is no anger involved. No fighting, no cheating, no nothing. We love each other and will continue to support each other for the rest of our lives.”

While wrapping up the post, he encouraged fans to “be happy.”

“To all the fans: don’t be sad,” he continued. “Be happy that we could peacefully end this chapter of our relationship, beginning a new one full of love and happiness. There will be no displays of anger or hatred that tear people apart; the public will not be made to choose sides. There are not sides, there is just us. Two people who loved each other in marriage and will continue to love each other for the rest of our lives.”

The couple wed in October 2015.

(The original version of this article was published on March 16, 2018 and can be found below.)

Despite showing up arm in arm at the 60th Grammy Awards in January, Logic and his wife, singer/model Jessica Andrea, have reportedly called it quits. According to TMZ, the two are on their way to a divorce after less than three years of marriage.

Rumors started to swirl after fans noticed his Instagram-famous wife had unfollowed the “1-800-273-8255” rapper’s Instagram account. A source reportedly told TMZ the house they recently purchased is also set to hit the market.

The couple married in October 2015 and Andrea would occasionally join him during his performances. Last July, she provided vocals for Logic’s suicide prevention anthem during a San Francisco concert.

In an interview with Billboard last May, Logic even revealed he’d gotten the words, “Happy Wife, Happy Life” tattooed on his hand and was hoping to have three children with Andrea. TMZ suggests a reconciliation is unlikely.

Logic is gearing up for The Bobby Tarantino Vs. Everybody Tour with KYLE and NF this summer in support of his recent mixtape release, Bobby Tarantino II.

Neither Logic nor Andrea have addressed the spilt publicly.
