Atlanta, GA – Big Boi treated several residents of Atlanta’s Patients of Loving Arms Hospice to a day at the movies. The Outkast luminary and his company Celebrity Trailers bought out Stonecrest Theaters to screen Black Panther for the residents and their families, according to Fox 5.

Stalley Releases “Tell The Truth: Shame The Devil – Vol. 2” EP

After teasing the sequel to his Tell The Truth: Shame The Devil EP earlier this month, Stalley is back with the release of the next installment, Tell The Truth: Shame The Devil – Vol. 2.

The eight-track EP — released through the Ohio native’s Blue Collar Gang label — features just one guest appearance, from Migos’ Takeoff.

“Independence is freedom, it’s fluid, it’s being able to do what you want to do,” the former Maybach Music Group signee told Spotify of his decision to go independent. “A lot of the people who followed me throughout my career know I’m a boss, know before any other situation, it was Blue Collar Gang. I feel like I have that organic and independent spirit about myself, and I’m here to showcase that and let the people who support me know we’re here to stay.”

G Herbo Charged With Illegal Gun Possession

Chicago, IL – Chicago rapper G Herbo was arrested on Thursday night (February 22) during a traffic stop, according to Fox 32 Chicago. He and two other men have reportedly been charged with illegal gun possession after police allegedly found loaded weapons in the vehicle.

According to a statement from Chicago Police, the stop happened around 10:35 p.m., and all three men are facing a felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a loaded weapon in a vehicle without proper documentation. They were expected to appear in bond court on Friday (February 23).

Herbo, who has collaborated with artists like Chance The Rapper, Common and Nicki Minaj, put out his debut album, Humble Beast, last September and released the Humble Beast Deluxe Version last week.

He’s also expecting a child soon.

In a 2016 interview with VladTV, Herbo spoke about dropping out of high school his junior year and the dangers he faced going to school in his violent Chi-Town neighborhood.

“It was a risk,” he said. “I was risking my life and risking my freedom. We was already in the streets. Yes, you can get killed going to school. People got killed going to school. Early in the morning. That’s when you get killed on bus stops going to school, on your way to school, leaving your house at 7 in the morning shit like that. You’ll get killed like that easy in Chicago.”

Hip Hop Is Hype For “Roxanne Roxanne” Biopic Coming To Netflix

As a member of the infamous Juice Crew, Roxanne Shanté rapped alongside Big Daddy Kane, Masta Ace, Biz Markie, Marley Marl and Kool G Rap, among other pioneering MCs.

At 14 years old, the Queens native dropped “Roxanne’s Revenge” in response to U.T.F.O.’s “Roxanne Roxanne” and was catapulted into the spotlight, becoming one of the first popular female rappers.

Now, Pharrell Williams and Forest Whitaker have teamed up with Netflix to produce a biopic about her life. Aptly titled Roxanne Roxanne, the film is expected to arrive March 23.

The film stars Detroit native Chanté Adams in the title roll, as well as Oscar-winning Hiero Imperium alum Mahershala Ali, Nia Long, Elvis Nolasco, Kevin Phillips and Shenell Edmonds.

Ahead of its release, Netflix has shared an official trailer, which gives a brief glimpse into the rough upbringing Shanté experienced.

Several notable figures from the Hip Hop community are clearly anticipating the film. Pharrell, Chuck D, Run The Jewels’ El-P and fellow Juice Crew member Masta Ace were among the many who posted about the biopic on their Twitter accounts.
