#DXHitList: Vince Staples, Logic & Sir Michael Rocks Top This Week’s Spotify Playlist

Spotify – Vince Staples “Get The Fuck Off My Dick” tops this week’s #DXHitList on Spotify simply because it bangs. Staples activated a $2 million GoFundMe campaign this week, challenging those who want him to disappear to pay for him to retire somewhere in Palmdale with a Honda and a puppy. He’s only raised a little over $1,500 though so far so here comes the new music.

Also topping the #DXHitList is a track from Logic and Big Sean called “Wassup” off the Maryland bred MC’s mixtape Bobby Tarantino II. It’s certainly not the type of song you’d expect to hear from Logic if you don’t listen to him often.

The #DXHitList also features the melodic cut “Don’t Play Me Repay Me” from Sir Michael Rocks, produced by Dan Trevino.

Lil Yachty, Wifisfuneral, Buddy, Snow Tha Product, 16yrold and Casey Veggies with the 03 Greedo-assisted banger “Broke” also top this week’s #DXHitList.

Follow and listen to the #DXHitList on Spotify below.

Trippie Redd, TDE’s Punch, Turk & More React To Lil Xan’s 2Pac Controversy

Lil Xan fired a shockwave through the Hip Hop community recently when he called 2Pac’s music “boring” during an interview with REVOLT. Xan’s comments even caused Waka Flocka Flame to call for him to be “banned from Hip Hop.”

A number of stars have since taken to social media to respond to Xan’s comments, including Trippie Redd and actor Michael Rapaport.

Redd, a close friend of Lil Xan, hit Instagram to defend the 21-year-old’s comments.

“I personally think y’all need to get off Lil Xan’s dick,” he said. “That’s my lil dawg. And I love 2Pac. That was my dead brother’s favorite artist. Bro, do you see who he is? Of course he don’t like 2Pac … He don’t necessarily gotta like 2Pac to be Hip Hop, nigga. If he think that shit boring, he think that shit boring. That shit is not a part of this new era anyway.”

#trippieredd wants y’all to hop off #lilxan d*ck! He also says he doesn’t feel Tupac’s sound is a big part of the new wave of rap. FAXX or FICTION?

Michael Rapaport — who directed the 2011 documentary Beats, Rhymes Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest — also responded to Xan’s comments, albeit with a slightly different perspective.

“Some wack-ass, non-rapping rapper named Lil Xan, Lil Xanax — some pill-popping muthafucking face-tattooed cornball, no skill, no talent muthafucka said that 2Pac’s music wasn’t interesting,” Rapaport said in a video uploaded to Instagram. “Little buck tooth rabbit face-looking muthafucka. You need to apologize, all right? And you don’t need to apologize to 2Pac or 2Pac’s fans. You need to apologize to whoever the fuck raised you, or who didn’t raise you, for raising you to be a dumb fuck. Little funny-faced Tom and Jerry-looking ass muthafucka. You don’t get to speak on anything that has to do with Hip Hop or rap music.”

Common & Angela Rye Reportedly Break Up

Common and political commentator Angela Rye have ended their relationship, according to Page Six.

Rumors about the couple’s relationship status began to circulate after Rye was noticeably absent from Academy Awards ceremony where the Chicago-bred MC performed and was nominated in the Best Original Song category. She also wasn’t at the Toast to the Arts event Common was hosting.

In a statement obtained by Page Six, Rye indicated the breakup was amicable.

“We have and will always be friends,” the statement read. “He is an amazing human being and I’m a much better person because he’s a part of my life. May we all keep loving and living.”

The couple reportedly became an item in the summer of 2017.

Martin Shkreli Cries As He’s Sentenced To 7 Years In Prison

New York, NY – “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli was sentenced to seven years in prison for federal fraud charges on Friday (March 9), according to The Chicago Tribune. During his sentencing, the normally smug Shkreli began to cry as he told U.S. District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto he’d made many mistakes.

“I want the people who came here today to support me to understand one thing, the only person to blame for me being here today is me,” Shkreli said. “I took down Martin Shkreli.”

He added, “I am terribly sorry I lost your trust. You deserve far better.”

Shkreli has been in prison for the last six months after being convicted of two counts of security fraud last August.

The seven-year sentence is much higher than the 18-month maximum requested by defense lawyers. He will get credit for the six months he’s already served but must also pay a $75,000 fine.

Benjamin Brafman, Shkreli’s attorney, reportedly told Matsumoto that his feelings toward his client vary. He admitted that sometimes he wants to hug Shkreli and sometimes he wants to punch him in the face. Brafman believes his client’s outspoken personality shouldn’t factor into his punishment and thought an 18-month sentence was more appropriate since the investors got their money back.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jacquelyn Kasulis disagreed and said he deserved the seven-year sentence but not because he’s “the most hated man in America,” but because he has “no respect whatsoever” for the law.

Prosectors ended the proceedings by saying Shkreli’s display of remorse couldn’t be trusted.

“At its core, this case is about Shkreli’s deception of people who trusted him.”

Earlier this week, Shkreli learned he’d have to fork over more than $7.3 million in a brokerage account and personal assets, including the infamous Wu-Tang Clan album, Once Upon A Time In Shaolin. Shkreli plans to appeal and the judge said she won’t seize the property until that happens.

Shkreli has been infuriating members of the Hip Hop community since purchasing the one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang album for $2 million in 2015. He’s also leaked music from Lil Wayne’s long overdue album, Tha Carter V. Consequently, Wayne and camp threatened to sue.
