Big Boi, Killer Mike & Bassnectar Join Tom Morello To Rage Against Racial Injustice On "Rabbit’s Revenge"

After almost 30 years, legendary guitarist and Prophets Of Rage member Tom Morello continues to use music as his platform to fight for social justice. He shows no signs of slowing down on his new song “Rabbit’s Revenge” featuring electronica DJ/producer Bassnectar and Dungeon Family affiliates Big Boi and Killer Mike.

The song is the lead single from his forthcoming album The Atlas Underground, and its featured in the trailer for the upcoming film The Predator. Morello, known for his crunchy punk-rock guitar style and eardrum-piercing chords, shreds his way through the track with Big Boi and Killer Mike ferociously rhyming over Bassnectar’s cacophonous production.

Morello offers insight on the concept of the song and cross-genrenderground album. “‘Rabbit’s Revenge’ is the hard rocking, cross genre banger I was aiming for when I envisioned The Atlas Underground record,” Morello says of the napalm of a track. “Bassnectar, Big Boi, Killer Mike and I combining forces to fight police brutality. We are not violent, but the music is.”

The song’s visual starts with a hooded shadow with a menacing warped voice saying the songs chorus “We can see what’s happening, we can read between the lines.” Thereafter, Morello stands alone in a darkened warehouse before being joined by the Outkast rapper and the Run The Jewels MC. Throughout the song, there is a ongoing display of African-Americans victims who were killed by white oppressors and police officers.

You can see the full music video for “Rabbit’s Revenge” available exclusively on Apple Music.

This October, the Rage Against The Machine co-founder will be promoting The Atlas Underground on a seven-city tour.

A few days after Trippie Redd announced his Life’s A Trip album had been pushed back to August, the rapper has hinted at an actual release date of August 10.

Over the weekend, Trippie updated his Instagram bio to say, “LIFES A TRIP. *ALBUM MODE* LEAVE ME ALONE UNLESS YOU ARE A POSITIVE SOUL. August 10th.”

“ LIFES A TRIP. *ALBUM MODE* LEAVE ME ALONE UNLESS YOU ARE A POSITIVE SOUL. August 10th ? “ Trippie has a new bio! ? What could August 10th stand for ? Could it be the release date of something big? ? We’ll find out soon enough! #lifesatrip #trippieredd

Trippie had initially told fans the album would be dropping in July and that it would be a two-part project. So far, there hasn’t been any recent update on the length of the album or an official tracklist.

Trippie shared two new songs to SoundCloud last week, including one that featured Chief Keef.

But there’s another high-profile guest appearance Trippie entertained in a recent conversation with TMZ. After hearing a clip of LeBron James rapping, he said, “I would put LeBron on a track. His voice is nice. I feel like if I gave him what I wanted him to say on a track, it would go smoothly. Like a intro or just like chant something and then go into my part. I think that shit would be fire.”

Kimmel’s “Mean Tweets: Hip Hop Edition” Is Here

Lil Wayne, Ty Dolla $ign, 50 Cent, Logic, Remy Ma, Eve, Pusha T and more were featured in Jimmy Kimmel’s Hip Hop version of Celebrity Mean Tweets on Thursday night (August 9).

For roughly three minutes, each artist read a tweet insulting their appearance, music or career (or a combination of all three).

Following tweets aimed at DJ Khaled and Rae Sremmurd, Trippie Redd reads one that says, “Imagine a pile of shit, but a pile of shit takes a shit. That’s what Trippie Redd look like.”

Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been doing the Celebrity Mean Tweets segment for years but they’re not always Hip Hop centric.

On Thursday night’s (August 9) episode, that will change when Lil Wayne, Ty Dolla $ign, Logic and more show up for the Hip Hop edition.

Ahead of the show, ABC has shared a short clip of what to expect. Wayne kicks things off when he reads a tweet that says, “Lil Wayne is what happens what when you pour four loko on a gremlin.”

Logic is up next who reads one that says, “Logic is the worst rapper of all time, Paula Deen can rap better.” Finally, Ty Dolla $ign recites one that says, “Ty Dolla $ign looks like the crab from Moana.”

Kanye West is also scheduled to appear on the show as a guest.

Tonight’s episode airs at 11:35/10:35 CST.

Tekashi 6ix9ine Faces Up to 3 Years In Prison & Sex Offender Registration

New York, NY – Fresh off the success of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Hot 100 hit “FEFE” featuring Nicki Minaj, the controversial rapper is feeling the heat from the New York District Attorney.

The D.A. is recommending he serve a stint of one to three years in state prison and register as a sex offender for violating his plea agreement, The Blast reports. A letter from Manhattan’s D.A. Office outlines the reasoning behind their decision.

“Defendant has had over two years to demonstrate to this Court that the role he played in the sexual exploitation of a thirteen-year-old child was an aberration in his otherwise law-abiding life,” the letter reads. “He has failed to do so.”

Just went to court. It was good.

A post shared by FEFE OUT NOW (@6ix9ine) on Jul 16, 2018 at 10:59am PDT

The rainbow color-haired artist previously pled guilty to the use of a child in a sexual performance in 2015. In exchange for his guilty plea, sentencing was to be deferred for two years. This made him eligible for Youthful Offender adjudication, which would seal his criminal record. All he needed to do was stay out of trouble.

6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, has struggled to satisfy the court’s demands though. He’s facing assault charges in Houston for allegedly choking 16-year-old fan in January. In May, he was arrested for driving on a suspended license and accused of assaulting a police officer, which he denies. Charges in the latter case have since reduced to a misdemeanor.

Sentencing for 6ix9ine is scheduled to take place on October 2.
