When You Say Rihanna’s Name, Make Sure You Put "Her Excellency" In Front Of It

Barbados – Rihanna has a new title: Her Excellency.

The government of Barbados has appointed the international pop star, born Robyn Fenty, to the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. Her duties include “promoting education, tourism and investment.”

With her new role and responsibilities, it is a must to refer to her as Her Excellency or Madam Ambassador. RiRi, 30, will also receive a diplomatic passport, travel privileges and diplomatic immunity.

“I couldn’t be more proud to take on such a prestigious title in my home country,” she said in a statement released by the Barbadian government. “Every Barbadian is going to have to play their role in this current effort, and I’m ready and excited to take on the responsibility. I look forward to working with Prime Minister Mottley and her team to reimagine Barbados”

Rihanna became one of Barbados’ cultural ambassadors in 2008. The street she grew up on, Westbury New Road, was also renamed after her.

In the past, the Fenty Beauty mogul has donated nearly $2 million to the island’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital for equipment to be used at the Clara Braithwaite Centre for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine. Clara Braithwaite, also known as Gran Gran Dolly, is Rihanna’s grandmother who passed away from cancer in 2012.

“Rihanna has a deep love for this country and this is reflected in her philanthropy, especially in the areas of health and education. She also shows her patriotism in the way she gives back to this country and continues to treasure the island as her home,” Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley said in her own statement.

Mottley added, “She has also demonstrated, beyond her success as a pop icon, significant creative acumen and shrewdness in business. It is therefore fitting that we engage and empower her to play a more definitive role as we work to transform Barbados.”

Also, Suge Knight was sentenced to 28 years in prison and the Eminem vs. Machine Gun Kelly battle continued.

Kanye West plans on releasing his a new LP titled Yandhi on September 29. It appears to be a sequel of sorts to his 2013 album Yeezus.

There’s no Kanye album release that comes without drama in the headlines, and this time it’s highlighted by an Instagram commentary on the dooms of social media likes and airing out celebrity men who bring up his wife’s name.

Nick Cannon, one of the men called out by Yeezy, dismissed the rant and states he will continue to say whatever he wants.

Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly’s rap beef is simmering down, but the aftershock of their respective diss tracks, “Killshot” and “Rap Devil,” can still be felt.

MGK spoke with The Breakfast Club about his clash with Em, calling him “old” and “disconnected” during the interview.

Additionally, Joe Budden revealed on his podcast that he spoke with Diddy about Em’s most controversial line on “Killshot,” which implicated Puffy in the murder of Tupac Shakur.

“Nothing to speculate about. Nothing to talk about,” Budden said. “Puff said it’s in his hands and he said I can tell ya. That’s the end of that. He said, ‘Yeah, there’s nothing to say about it. It’s in my hands.’ He’s wild. Period.”

On the other side, D12’s Bizarre has kept releasing music in Em’s defense and 50 Cent blames MGK for Shady’s massive amount of “Killshot” streams on YouTube.

DXclusives: Jimmy Spicer Lil Wayne

Jimmy Spicer Calls Out Russell Simmons For Unpaid Royalties Disingenuous IG Post

Jimmy Spicer was one of the first MCs Russell Simmons took under his umbrella. But, Uncle Rush still owes Spicer royalties for “Money (Dollar Bill Y’all).”

The Hip Hop pioneer has been struggling with his health and supporting his family. The only support Simmons has given Spicer was a $2,500 donation to his GoFundMe for hospital bills — but he’s owed a lot more. Spicer called out his old boss in an interview with HipHopDX’s Kyle Eustice.

“Russell Simmons actually finally gave up something toward my GoFundMe,” Spicer told DX. “For a rich ass cat, he’s as cheap as they come. He gave me $2,500. Whoop-de-doo. He still owes me royalties for ‘Dollar Bill.’ I figured that he could have come up with more than $2,500. That’s some cheap chintzy shit.”

The Evolution Of Lil Wayne’s “Carter” Series

While fans patiently wait for Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V, DX has broken down his beloved Carter series.

“If Tha Carter V is as much of a success that it alludes to be then Tha Carter series is to Wayne’s career what NBA championships are to Kobe Bryant; an early three-peat right out of the gate with another two rings later in his career – all of which confirming the legacy.”

Eminem Slams Critics With "Kamikaze" Print Ad

No matter what Eminem does, music critics are seemingly always out for blood. When the indisputable rap legend dropped Revival last year, he faced an onslaught of negativity. Consequently, Em rebounded with his surprise album Kamikaze in August and fired back at all his detractors.

But, evidently critics didn’t like that project either. So, Slim Shady and his team decided to take out a full-page print ad in The Hollywood Reporter, blasting various publications for criticizing his latest work — despite the fact Kamikaze is No. 1 in 103 countries and sold over 434,000 total album equivalent units in its first week.

“NOT FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION!” the ad reads in part. “Thanks for the support a**holes!”

Editorial director of The Hollywood Reporter, Matthew Belloni, shared the ad via Twitter on Thursday (September 20).

“Respect to @Eminem and his label for running this very funny ad in @THR magazine,” Belloni wrote. “Is this the print equivalent of a diss track?”

Kamikaze, Em’s 10th studio album, arrived on August 31 and it’s been a heavy topic of conversation ever since.

Most notably, it kicked off a war of words between Shady and Machine Gun Kelly. Em’s delivered what appears to be the final blow,“Killshot,” earlier this month. It marked the biggest Hip Hop video debut in YouTube’s history.

Daz Dillinger Is All Smiles Following Suge Knight’s 28-Year Prison Sentence

Magnolia, MS – Judging by the singing and celebratory blunt, Daz Dillinger isn’t losing any sleep over Suge Knight’s recent prison sentence. The former Death Row Records CEO was sentenced to 28 years in prison earlier this week, bringing that chapter to an unceremonious close.

Dillinger took to Instagram on Friday (September 21) to express his thoughts on the sentencing.

“Wake and bake y’all,” he begins. “They wondered how the Suge Knight story was going to end. It ended yesterday. 28 years in the penitentiary. You 53 years old. 28 years and you wonder how the story of Suge Knight ended.

“The Death Row story ended yesterday. You wonder how life goes and you wonder how life is. And it just ended, you know what I mean? [Laughs]. I don’t know what to think. Do you know what I’m thinking? Shout out to Suge Knight, Jr. Go visit your daddy in prison. He needs you.”

From there, he starts singing as he sparks up the blunt.

“THE SUGE KNIGHT STORY HAS ENDED,” he wrote in the caption. “NOW U CAN DO YOUR DEATHROW MOVIE. FUCC CUZ.”

Tha Dogg Pound rapper/producer was signed to Death Row in 1992 and contributed to classics such as Dr. Dre’s The Chronic and Snoop Dogg’s Doggstyle. During the imprint’s heyday, Dre grew increasingly frustrated with Knight’s violent tendencies and left to start Aftermath Entertainment. Daz ended his tenure at Death Row in 1999.

Knight, on the other hand, went on to run the label into the ground for the next several years and filed for bankruptcy in 2006.

Knight has been in jail since 2015 when he was arrested for the hit-and-run death of Terry Carter. He copped to voluntary manslaughter and admitted he used his vehicle as a deadly weapon. He could potentially spend the rest of his life behind bars.

NO CAPTION ✌?
