Bobby Brown Wants To Slap Kanye West Over "DAYTONA" Cover

Kanye West’s controversial selection for Pusha T’s DAYTONA cover art — a photo of Whitney Houston’s drug-laden bathroom — has received criticism from the late singer’s estate. Now, her ex-husband Bobby Brown is also bothered by Yeezy’s handiwork.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Brown lashed out at West after being told what the cover depicted. The former New Edition member hadn’t seen the DAYTONA artwork at the time of the conversation but that didn’t stop him from expressing his desire to slap Yeezy over it.

“That’s really disgusting that he would do that,” Brown said. “That’s in really bad taste. Something should happen to Kanye. He’s already crazy. I knew that when I first met him. Now he’s pushing the bar a little bit. He needs somebody to slap him up or something. And I’m just the person to do it.”

I finally got my album art… #DAYTONA 5/25

Last week, Houston’s cousin Damon Elliott also referred to the cover as being “disgusting” while speaking to PEOPLE. The chart-topping singer’s nephew Gary Michael Houston was more forgiving, blaming the person who “violated the trust” of his aunt by selling the photo to tabloids for any wrongdoing instead of West and Pusha.

According to Pusha, West spent $85,000 to license the photo. The G.O.O.D. Music president said Yeezy decided to change the cover art to the controversial image just a few days before DAYTONA was released on May 25.

Quentin Miller Uses Drake & Pusha T Beef To Address Nicki Minaj Name Drop

Atlanta, GA – Much like the Meek Mill vs. Drake beef, writer-for-hire Quentin Miller has found himself wedged in the middle of Drizzy’s latest lyrical squabble with Pusha T.

So what’s a rapper to do when they’re shining with the unsolicited spotlight?

Rap about it, of course.

Prod. @lyleleduff . Link in bio.

A post shared by Q.M. (@quentinmiller__) on May 29, 2018 at 3:49pm PDT

On his new Lyle Leduff-produced record, “Destiny (Freestyle),” the unconventional star spills on his life journey, well-publicized loss of his leg and even touches on the aftermath.

“Name drops, name drops, I hear name drops/Associates, old friends, got suggestions/Nicki [Minaj] poppin’ off, she ain’t never met me/Niggas got opinions, don’t even know me.”

The Nicki line was a direct reference to the Chun Li channeler’s recent tweet that mentioned the controversial Atlanta rapper.

“Niggaz gon run that Quentin shit in the fkn ground like Drake don’t write 4 himself OTHERS!” Minaj tweeted.

“Ya enemies will remix, reinvent TRY 2make u RELIVE some old shit for YEARS 2 come when they have NOTHING ON U! Knock it off. Challenging the chosen ones only awakens the sleeping giant.”

Elsewhere in the song, Miller was clear he wanted to distance himself from Drake’s success, rapping: “Collaborated with my favorite rapper few times/I don’t want none of his credit, I’m just focused on mine.”

Miller’s latest record comes on the heels of his latest released mixtape Crshed Files, Vol. 2 and his real-time lyric annotation to Drake’s Pusha T diss, “Duppy Freestyle.”

Twitter Turns Drake Into Meme God Following Pusha T’s Diss Track

Hip Hop fans naturally gravitate towards an explosive rap beef like the one currently underway between Drake and Pusha T.

After the G.O.O.D Music president delivered “The Story Of Adidon” on Tuesday (May 29), Twitter exploded with reactions to the latest blow in the Drizzy vs. Pusha battle.

It all kicked off on Friday (May 25) when Pusha delivered the DAYTONA cut “Infrared,” which was perceived as a diss track aimed at the OVO Sound boss and Cash Money CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams.

Drake retaliated with the “Duppy Freestyle,” firing several rounds in Pusha’s direction.

The majority of Twitter users seem to think Pusha bodied the 6 God, while others are howling at some of Pusha’s lines.

Check out some of the best reactions below.

Illmac & Dizaster Face Off As Condiments In Animated Rap Battle

Underground rapper and battle rap legend Illmac dropped an animated video on his YouTube channel on Monday (May 28) depicting a URL/KOTD style battle event going down inside a refrigerator, between condiment bottles. The crudely-done cartoon, reminiscent of Adult Swim’s lo-fi aesthetic, showcases the classic rivalry between ketchup and mustard coming to a head.

Ketchup is voiced by world-famous battle rapper Dizaster, who bars out with lines like, “Since you run with butter/ My toast will never jam like your buddy Smuckers.” Illmac himself plays Mustard and admirably holds his own against the scowling, red opponent, “Somethin’ squirtin’ if I see Ketchup pack it/ And tear his top off, like a ketchup packet.”

Illmac spoke to HipHopDX about the birth of this idea:

“I was smoking with the homie Bobby Bucher, bored at the studio. I was making a sandwich … And he came in like, ‘Yao let’s battle as Ketchup and Mustard.’ We battled on some high freestyle shit. Then a few months ago I was brainstorming ideas for new YouTube series and that popped into my head. I knew to pull it off the way I wanted it to it had to be a cartoon … to maintain more of a surreal, unique vibe.”

Illmac is treating this like a pilot to a potential series. “We’re going to shop it around to see what we can really do with it. We’re super hyped on the final product,” he says.

He explained there are several other episodes mapped out, and, while he can’t confirm one way or the other what will make the final cut, some ideas that have been thrown around are ‘Dog vs Cat,’ ‘Mullet vs Man Bun,’ and ‘Peanut Butter vs Jelly.’

The short was produced by Illmac and Andres Salaff, who also did the animation. Illmac and Dizaster recorded the voicework along with rapper/veteran battle organizer Lush One, who played the box of baking soda hosting the battle. Chase Moore is responsible for the intro and outro music. The background art was illustrated by Thomas Lynch III.

Check out the video, which is packed with sight-gags, puns, and food-related bars.
