Sheck Wes Announces "Mudboy" Release Date With NBA’s Mo Bamba

Sheck Wes’ breakthrough single “Mo Bamba” has changed his life. Fittingly, the Cactus Jack and G.O.O.D. Music signee gets an assist from the song’s namesake, Orlando Magic center Mohamed Bamba, for his debut Mudboy.

Bamba sports a shirt featuring the project’s title and October 5 release date in a Twitter announcement.

“Mixed Mastered and Executively Produced By Sheck Wes,” Sheck adds.

The actual Mohamad Bamba being involved is a natural fit since Sheck is a childhood friend.

“I’m honestly just proud of this dude,” the former Texas Longhorn recently told HipHopDX. “He has his handprint all over the game and in entertainment. And that’s what makes him special.”

Sheck’s “Mo Bamba” has been a digital juggernaut, racking up close to 16 million streams on SoundCloud and well over 19 million views on YouTube. The song’s success (peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100), not to mention the backing of Travis Scott and Kanye West, has built a lot of hype for the upcoming release of Mudboy.

Kodak Black Sparks Engagement Rumors

It appears Kodak Black may have found someone special. From the looks of a since-deleted Instagram post — which featured a box filled with gold roses — Kodak fueled speculation the 21-year-old Florida artist will soon be jumping the broom.

“She said yes,” Kodak captioned with a heart emoji.

Since his release from jail, Kodak has been spotted in the studio cooking up new music, staying out of trouble so far and taking his time in dating.

Reports of a possible engagement (or beginnings of a new romantic relationship), follow his announcement of celibacy. Earlier this month, Kodak announced that sex does nothing for him and he hasn’t engaged in sexual activities since his release from prison.

The Painting Pictures artist previously shared that he was dating and pacing his relationships with women.

#DXCLUSIVE: Berner Joins Moonshine Bandits On "Gold Rush" Single

HipHopDX Premiere – California duo Moonshine Bandits — comprised of Dusty “Tex” Dahlgren and Brett “Bird” Brooks — have recruited MC Berner for the new track “Gold Rush.” The track comes from their forthcoming album of the same name.

Tonight we are in Clarksville Tennessee at the Speedway on a mission to Raise Hell. www.GoldRushAlbum.com

A post shared by Moonshine Bandits (@moonshine_bandits) on Sep 15, 2018 at 10:28am PDT

“This is a California anthem and our version of the Wild West,” Big Tex tells HipHopDX. “Out here on the West, we aren’t just about surfboards and Hollywood. We have more than just that. We wanted somebody that has a big name that was from Cali, so we reached out to Big Bern. He cut his vocals and sent them back to us the same day we sent him the song. We are stoked to have him on it.

“We wanted that old school West Coast sound on the production and Burn County nailed it. It’s something you can cruise down the road in an old school drop top Caddy, a lifted up bowtie Chevy or a chromed out Harley. We will eventually do a ‘Gold Rush’ remix and reach out to Snoop, Too $hort, B-Real and E-40.”

Gold Rush is expected to arrive on October 5.

Kenan Thompson Says Kanye West Held "SNL" Cast "Hostage" During Pro-Trump Rant

New York, NY – Kenan Thompson was a recent guest on Late Night With Seth Meyers to talk about his 16th season on Saturday Night Live. During the conversation, he addressed the “circus” that unfolded on Saturday (September 29) with musical guest Kanye West.

In particular, Meyers asked him about the pro-Trump rant Kanye delivered following the show.

“He voiced his opinion very loudly and for a long time,” Thompson said. “I don’t know if that’s the moment necessarily to hold people hostage like that. But hey, you know. … I felt so bad for those guys. Because it’s hard to stand there and not be able to debate somebody who’s going so far against your personal opinion.”

Thompson admitted he was relieved he decided to “exit” prior to YE’s diatribe.

Fans were waiting on Kanye’s Yandhi album to drop that same night, but he failed to deliver. On Monday (October 1), wife Kim Kardashian announced the project’s release date was pushed to November 23.

Kanye explained to TMZ he was going to Africa with his “alien YE” alter ego to finish the album.

CyHi Tha Prynce Doubles Down On $500K Rap Battle With Joe Budden

During a new promotional Team Backpack Cypher, CyHi Tha Prynce casually threw out the idea he’d like to battle Joe Budden for $500,000. Now, he’s doubling up on his offer.

On Tuesday (October 2), he sent out a tweet confirming the battle is a real possibility — if Budden will come out of rap retirement.

“Joe my guy but I will end his rap and podcast career,” he wrote. “I’m the wrong 1 to play with but if he wants to put 500k up let’s get it and we doing it face to face too so you can look the GOD in his eyes while I take your SOUL and we call pay per view and we can double it! I got Sponsors.”

Budden responded with, “You don’t even believe this lol.”

When a fan tweeted, “Where was all this energy when Joe wasn’t retired?” CyHi replied, “He wasn’t a hater back then” to which Budden said, “You wasn’t cooning then.”

Budden already addressed CyHi’s original offer in a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast and is well aware the offer is on the table. In fact, he claimed he would do it if the money was there.

“CyHi, I have a million dollars, and I’ll clean your ass up,” he said. “You can’t come to the party with that. I’m retired. I’m not replying to none of these niggas. But, “Half a mil’, track-for-track? Of course, we gotta do that. Any rapper that money has been on the line for — nah, they never really put it up … I don’t think that CyHi has $500,000 of disposable income.”

For now, there’s no indication the battle will actually happen. Only time will tell. Until then, revisit CyHi’s cypher below.
