JAY-Z is scheduled to headline Sunday (August 18) while Run The Jewels, Akon and Princess Nokia perform on Friday (August 16). Other notable Hip Hop and RB acts performing throughout the week include Chance The Rapper, Janelle Monáe, SiR, Vince Staples and Earl Sweatshirt.

“We’ve lined up artists who won’t just entertain but will remind the world that music has the power to bring people together, to heal, to move us to action and to tell the stories of a generation,” Lang said in the press release. “Our hope is that today, just as in 1969, music will be the constant that can inspire positive change.”

In addition to original Woodstock ’69 icons Santana and Dead Company, legendary acts booked for the event include Robert Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters, David Crosby and Friends, John Fogerty, Canned Heat, Country Joe McDonald, John Sebastian and Melanie.

Billed as “3 Days of Peace and Music,” the original Woodstock was a reaction by the youth of its time to the tumultuous conditions they faced and many of the causes that inspired them, including civil rights, women’s rights and the anti-war movement. Woodstock was a defining cultural and historical moment that brought over 400,000 together for music, peace and love.

The Woodstock 50 Music and Arts Fair takes place on August 16-18 in Watkins Glen.

Tickets go on sale on April 22, which just happens to be Earth Day. To get general information before general tickets go on sale, email: peace@woodstock50.com.

Missy Elliott & Lizzo Celebrate Thick Girls With "Tempo" Single

Following an explosive performance at 2019’s SXSW Conference Music Festival in Austin, blossoming Twin Cities rapper Lizzo is making more of her dreams come true. On Wednesday (March 20), the proudly plus-size artist dropped her new single “Tempo” featuring Missy Elliott.

Over a heart-thumping bassline, the two talented MCs revel in their “thick thighs” and nice curves” — and unapologetically so.

In an interview with Beats 1 earlier this month, Lizzo mentioned how badly she wanted to collaborate with the Grammy Award-winning superstar.

“I was like, I hope she blesses me with a verse,” she said. “Like, you never know, you send it to your idols, you never know if they gonna send it back.”

Lizzo elaborated in an Instagram post, which featured several selfies with Misdemeanor.

“There’s a lot of promo shit the label™️ wanted me to post today but I’d rather share these intimate moments and an even more intimate story. 2 years ago I met my hero,” she wrote. “I played her my music, she threw beats at me as I freestyled.

“It was fun and life changing—10 years ago if you told me I’d rap w/ Missy Elliott, I’d think that was impossible…so we took selfies because I thought I’d never see her again.”

I never posted these pictures because they were just for me.. a secret I held close to my heart. But also… deep down inside I knew one day we’d have something even more special than a selfie. Today is that day. Missy, you are the inspiration of my entire career. When you dropped music videos (?give her the vanguard award ? @mtv @vmas !!!!!) or SHUT DOWN award shows I felt SEEN. More importantly I felt REPRESENTED. You made this chubby, weird, black girl believe that ANYTHING was possible. And now we have a BANGER together ?— till this day you continue to inspire me to make my dreams come true. Now go fuck it up to the #TEMPO and STREAM OUR SONG!!!! ?? Love You @missymisdemeanorelliott ?

“Tempo” will be included on Lizzo’s upcoming Cuz I Love You album, which is expected to arrive on April 19.

Travis Scott Battles Over History Of Canceled Shows In $150K Lawsuit

Travis Scott reportedly hopes a judge won’t allow his history of no-shows and postponed concerts to be brought up at trial as he battles a $150,000 lawsuit.

Scott is being sued by promoter PJAM for canceling on a Super Bowl weekend performance in 2018 and allegedly never paying back a six-figure advance.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the multi-platinum selling artist is seeking to dismiss any other concert cancellations during his career from being used as evidence in his dispute with PJAM.

Scott will be questioned in court as part of the trial, but his legal team is attempting to prevent any evidence of his other failures to perform from being mentioned in the proceedings. They argue such evidence would be “unfairly prejudicial.”

PJAM contends the evidence is relevant, citing seven other shows canceled on short notice from 2016-2019. The promoter claims they arranged for a private jet and spent thousands of dollars promoting the show.

Scott was scheduled to perform for PJAM at Myth Live in Minnesota on February 3, 2018. He presumably canceled because his daughter Stormi was born on February 1, but her birth wasn’t announced publicly until February 4.

PJAM says Scott canceled at the last minute and caused “reputational harm.” The Astroworld creator has counter-sued and accused PJAM of never confirming his travel plans. He also claims they didn’t have enough money to cover his expenses.

The case is set to head to trial later this year. PJAM is seeking $150,000 plus damages.

Fredo Bang Hops On Young M.A Lust Fest

Kodak Black ignited a wave of controversy after he made some sexually charged comments about Young M.A on his new song, “Pimpin Ain’t Easy.”

The Brooklyn rapper – who is openly gay — was far from impressed with his perceived homophobic lyrics and referred to Kodak as “weird.” In response, Kodak chastised her for not warming up to his strange advances.

Now, Baton Rouge rapper Fredo Bang is letting the world know how he feels about her in an Instagram video.

“Young M.A cuter than most of you hoes,” he says in the clip. “Y’all stupider than a muthafucka. You need some attractive tattoos, attractive clothes — if she don’t got a dick on her, I’m fuckin. No disrespect  to Young M.A., I don’t know her … she got a cat my nigga.

“Listen, people talkin’ bout, ‘Oh she come off as a man.’ No, y’all stupid. She come off as a woman with tattoos and bangin’ clothes to me. Yo, she is a fuckin’ woman.”

But Fredo and Kodak aren’t the only ones making explicit remarks about Young M.A. In another Instagram post, J.R. Donato directed some lustful comments toward the 26-year-old.

“@kodakblack you damn near on to sum,” he wrote. “She lookin decent in this Kobe jersey. I’m ready too don’t tell whoopty whoop.”

He added, “Me and Kodak gone fight for this pxxsy…when i see him it’s on sight. For this pxxsy.”

Young M.A has yet to respond to the latest (what is essentially) sexual harassment, but it’s probably safe to say it’s getting old.

Mac Miller & Madlib’s Collaboration Has "No Official Plans" For Release

Madlib’s recent preview of a Mac Miller collaboration and a DJBooth interview with producer Thelonious Martin have sparked questions about a project titled MacLib. In response, Madlib’s website Rappcats has posted an update to provide some clarity.

Eothen “Egon” Alapatt, Madlib’s longtime business partner, confirmed the acclaimed producer and Miller recorded an EP — not an entire album as Martin told DJBooth. He also said, “There are no official plans to release the EP.”

“What exists is what the two had originally intended – an EP’s worth of music that was supposed to be the start of something,” Egon wrote. “The end point wasn’t planned out or even discussed. The idea was to create for creation’s sake.”

According to Egon, Miller received a batch of Madlib beats and began to create songs in 2015. In 2016, the two decided to make an EP. Their collaborations continued throughout 2017.

The MacLib title was also revealed to simply be a placeholder.

“And that name, MacLib? Like Jaylib, it was just in the metadata of one of the files he sent over,” Egon wrote. “‘MacLib – Number 4’ it read. The song still doesn’t have an official title.”

For now, it appears the late rapper’s death has halted any possible release of his work with Madlib.

Miller passed away on September 7, 2018. Madlib is set to release another collaborative album with Freddie Gibbs later this year.
