Hit-Boy Addresses 21 Savage’s Comments About Nas’ Relevancy: ‘That’s Wack’

Hit-Boy has addressed 21 Savage’s controversial comments where he took shots at Nas’ relevancy in the current landscape of Hip Hop.

On Thursday (November 17), the super producer stopped by Power 106 to discuss the trilogy of King’s Disease albums he produced for Nas — the third of which arrived last Friday (November 11). During the chat, he called out 21 Savage and discussed how different generations of rappers feel like they can’t coexist.

“Even take the 21 Savage thing, I feel like that’s a part of King’s Disease. How do you look at a Black Hip Hop artist, legendary guy, who just won his first Grammy a couple years ago,” Hit-Boy said of his King’s Disease partner around the 16:30 mark (see the video below).

“[Nas] just put out four critically-acclaimed albums and we don’t see these young rock guys like, ‘Aerosmith, them n-ggas ain’t relevant.’ We wouldn’t see that but we have to see that with Hip Hop and that’s just wack. That’s what’s keeping us there. That’s King’s Disease.”

21 Savage came under severe criticism earlier this week for his comments in a Clubhouse room where he targeted Nas. “I don’t feel like he’s relevant,” he said to the dismay of many listeners. “I don’t feel like Nas is relevant.”

With the wildfire of critics attacking him, 21 attempted to clarify his comments hours later. “I would never disrespect nas or any legend who paved the way for me y’all be tryna take stuff and run with it,” 21 wrote while applauding the Queensbridge icon.

TMZ caught up with Fivio Foreign who candidly spoke out in defense of the New York legend as well. “That n-gga Nas did too much to be disrespected like that,” Fivio said. “That’s big bro where I’m from you know what I’m saying. I was just on his album. He just got a Grammy for the album I just was on.”

As for Nas, he even seemingly responded in a subliminal manner with an army of Hip Hop soldiers swiftly coming to his defense on the heels of King’s Disease III‘s arrival.

Escobar shared a photo of himself with a caption that simply read “LOVE” along with a crying laughing emoji, which caused a stir in his comments section.
