Charleston White Says Gun He Pulled During Interview Was ‘Fake’: ‘I Went Into Character’

Charleston White has responded to backlash he’s received for pulling a gun on an interviewer during a recent sit-down – and he’s saying it wasn’t what it looked like.

According to the gang member-turned-internet personality, the gun he was seen pulling out on Chicago’s DJ Univercity wasn’t actually real.

“That was not a real gun, for one,” White says in a new Instagram video. “That was one of them AR soft muthafuckin’ pistols. Yeah yeah, they talking about, ‘That n-gga pulled out a real gun.’ Man, I don’t know what y’all doin’. Every time my camera come on, every time the audio come on – I’m playing.

“‘He playing?’ Yeah I’m playing. I’m playing dangerous, n-gga. I don’t give a damn about playing dangerous. They pay for this kinda shit. And guess what? I call it hazardous pay,” he continued, before launching into jokes on Wack 100, who he recently called out.

The interview had gone left after Univercity called White out for not helping the mothers of other deceased Chicago rappers like he’d helped FBG Duck’s mother. White took issue with being told how to spend his money, and he called King Von’s mother a bitch in response as he launched into why he wouldn’t help her after Von’s death.

“From the knowledge I got, King Von was a killer,” White said. “My momma had two sons locked up for murder, and my momma let everybody know I’m not in agreement with what my sons done. So you can’t make me care about King Von momma, fuck that bitch! I don’t give a fuck about his momma!”

As the back and forth wore on, White brandished his gun and told DJ U, “You better sit down, homie. Whatchu mean what I’m on? Don’t fuck with me with a gun in my hand, n-gga.” The interview was cut off shortly after that.

White has also been deeply deeply embroiled in a feud with T.I. of late after the personality made a social media post ridiculing T.I’s son King Harris and his friend Tootie Raww for being arrested in September.

Tip recently brought the beef to wax on his feature on Jucee Froot’s new single “Step,” and White has since responded with some bars of his own.
